BJP's Sikander Kumar Attends Maharudra Hawan in Shimla, Slams Sukhu Government Over Scams

BJP's Sikander Kumar says Congress government blaming Centre to hide its own administrative failures

BJP Himachal Pradesh General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sikander Kumar participated as the Chief Guest at the Maharudra Hawan and community lunch organised by the BJP Minority Morcha, Shimla District, at Radha Krishna Temple, Ganj Bazaar, Shimla. The event was held to pray for world peace, the protection of Dev Bhoomi Himachal Pradesh, and the well-being of the nation.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sikander Kumar said that Himachal Pradesh has witnessed devastating natural disasters over the past few years, causing immense loss of life and property, particularly in districts such as Mandi, Kullu-Manali, and Chamba. He said the Maharudra Hawan was performed to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva so that Himachal Pradesh and the entire country would remain protected from such calamities in the future.

He said that during the recent natural disasters, Bharatiya Janata Party workers stood shoulder to shoulder with the affected families, providing relief and assistance at every level. BJP workers considered it their duty to serve the people during difficult times, while the Congress government failed to provide the leadership and support expected of a responsible administration.

Reacting to the Congress government's repeated allegations against the Centre over disaster assistance, Dr. Sikander Kumar said it is the responsibility of the state government to effectively present Himachal Pradesh's case before the Union Government. He stated that all four BJP Members of Parliament from Himachal Pradesh, along with the two Rajya Sabha MPs, have consistently raised the state's concerns in Parliament and worked tirelessly to secure maximum support from the Centre. Blaming the Union Government for the state's administrative and financial shortcomings, he said, is merely an attempt to divert attention from the failures of the Congress government.

Launching a sharp attack on the Sukhu government, Dr. Sikander Kumar alleged that the last three years have been marked more by scams than by development. He claimed that allegations of irregularities and corruption have surfaced in almost every department, including recent procurement-related controversies. He asserted that many more such scams would come to light in the coming days and that those responsible for corruption would ultimately be held accountable.

He reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party remains committed to transparency, good governance, and safeguarding public interest, and will continue to expose the failures, corruption, and anti-people policies of the Congress government.

Among those present on the occasion were Kashmir Singh, Narendra Pal Singh, Parminder Singh, Paramjeet Singh Pammi, Balwinder Singh, Bhag Singh, Poonam Negi, Himanshi, Meenakshi, Sanjay Sood, Karan Nanda, Sanjeev Deshta, Gaurav Sharma, Kamal Sood, Sangeeta Sood, Lalit, Sanjeev Pinku, and Tarun Rana, along with several office bearers and workers of the BJP Minority Morcha and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
