District to construct 701 new transformers while upgrading existing ones for greater capacity.

Under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme, a project of Rs 107 crore is being started in the Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh to improve the power infrastructure's resilience, modernity, and dependability, officials announced on Saturday. According to the plan, the district will construct 701 new transformers while the current transformers will be repaired and have their capacities increased.

A central government project, the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), aims to modernize the electricity distribution network, upgrade outdated transformers, lines, and substations, and guarantee consumers' continuous power supply.

Ashish Kapoor, the electricity board's superintending engineer, stated that the RDSS survey work is presently in progress and that the district's power supply will become more dependable and seamless after the project is over. In order to guarantee that customers have a steady supply of electricity, work will be completed in accordance with local regulations based on the survey data, according to Kapoor. According to him, the plan would build new transformers with capabilities of 25 kVA, 63 kVA, 100 kVA, and 250 kVA.

According to Kapoor, there will also be the installation of new high-tension and low-tension lines, the maintenance of various outdated power lines, and the modernization of the old lines. According to the official, the district's low-voltage problem will be greatly alleviated after the project is finished.
