CM Saini visits Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj in Kurukshetra, reaffirms plan to include Gita in school curriculum.
Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the government is working towards introducing the Gita in the curriculum and fulfilling the resolve of taking the Gita to every household. The Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is not merely a religious scripture but a complete science of life. The lessons of duty, righteousness, knowledge and devotion explained in the Gita form the foundation for taking society and the nation forward in the present times. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Haryana Government is carrying forward culture and development together.
On Wednesday evening, on the occasion of Guru Purnima, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj at the Radha Krishna Temple of Gita Gyan Sansthan, Kurukshetra. Upholding the Guru-Shishya tradition, the Chief Minister sought the blessings of Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj by draping him with a shawl. The Chief Minister also offered prayers at the Radha Krishna Temple with Vedic chanting and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, peace and welfare of the people of the state.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Guru Purnima symbolises the glory of the Guru-Shishya tradition and Indian culture. It is from the sacred land of Kurukshetra that the entire world received the art of living through the Gita. Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj has been spreading the message of the Gita among the masses for several decades. His life and work are an inspiration to all of us. He said that Kurukshetra is being developed as an International Gita City. Through centres such as Brahma Sarovar, Jyotisar and Gita Gyan Sansthan, the government aims to spread the message of the Gita across the world. The International Gita Mahotsav has today emerged as one of the largest cultural events in the world. This has been made possible with the blessings of saints like Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Guru Purnima teaches us to remain grateful to our Guru, parents and society. The Haryana Government is working on the principle of Antyodaya. Welfare schemes are being implemented for the poor, farmers, women and youth. The Gita inspires us to perform selfless action. With this spirit, we will achieve the goal of a Viksit Bharat and a Viksit Haryana by 2047.
Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj said that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is a Karmayogi. In a short span of time, he has served the state immensely and will continue to do so in the future. The manner in which the government is taking the message of the Gita to the masses is commendable. The Gita instils discipline, dedication and a sense of patriotism in every individual. He said that the Haryana Government has undertaken historic initiatives for the promotion and propagation of the Gita. Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena, Superintendent of Police Chandra Mohan, Sampurnanand Maharaj, Chairman Gurnam Saini and other dignitaries and devotees were present on the occasion.
