Haryana Brings Certified Land Records Online, Ends Tehsil Office Visits

From application to download, the entire land record process is now online with tracking ID and patwari verification

In order to make land-related services quicker, more transparent, and paperless, the Haryana government has introduced an online system that enables users to apply for and get digitally certified copies of land records. The new module on the Revenue Haryana Portal has been operationalized by the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, allowing residents to get certified property records via an easy online procedure.

Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Sumita Misra, stated on Monday that all divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners have received instructions to use the system consistently throughout the state. According to her, the department has also created a thorough user manual with step-by-step instructions for citizens and a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for revenue officers to guarantee smooth implementation.

Misra explained the procedure, saying that candidates can use their registered mobile number to log in to the portal via OTP authentication and submit applications by choosing the necessary document and entering information like district, tehsil, and village. Each application will produce a distinct tracking ID and be sent electronically to the relevant revenue official or patwari for validation.

The digitally certified document will be prepared immediately and made accessible for download from the applicant's dashboard after the application is accepted and the required fee is paid online, she said. No matter how long the document is, certified copies of the mutation, registered sale deed, and "Fard Badr" will all cost Rs 100.

The first ten pages of "Jamabandi" will cost Rs 100, and each additional page will cost Rs 5. The digitally certified document will be made available for download via the applicant's dashboard once the required amount has been paid online. The process of transferring ownership of a plot of land includes a mutation. "Jamabandi" refers to a land record. Fard Badar is the process of updating ownership facts or correcting inaccuracies in land income records.

According to Misra, the project is anticipated to promote transparency through an end-to-end digital workflow, minimize delays in collecting land records, and drastically eliminate the need for recurrent visits to tehsil offices. According to her, the online approach will also improve accountability by keeping a thorough electronic record of each application and approval. The patwari or revenue official in question is now accountable for the accuracy of uploaded records in order to guarantee data accuracy. After uploading, any necessary corrections will only be handled via the formal procedures that has been specified.
