Flowers replace fear as Hindu pilgrims receive a warm welcome from Muslim communities across Nuh

The peaceful conclusion of the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra, which began on the first Monday of Sawan in Nuh, sent a message of Hindu-Muslim fraternity.

After Jalabhishek was performed in all three temples—Nuh's Nallahad Mahadev temple, Ferozepur Jhirka's Jhir temple, and the temple in Singar village—the Yatra started at approximately 12.30 pm from the Nalhadeshwar (Nalhad) Temple and finished at Shringeshwar Mahadev temple in Singar village at 7 pm. In contrast to 2023, when the Yatra was tainted by violence, Muslims greeted the pilgrims with flowers this time. The tight security arrangements, deployment of security personnel, drone surveillance and continuous meetings with the people of both communities proved effective in ensuring the peaceful conclusion of the Yatra, he added.

Politicians along with the pilgrims arriving from various states including Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, participated in the procession. Haryana's Minister of State for Sports Gaurav Gautam and Deputy Speaker of the Haryana Legislative Assembly Krishan Middha also joined the religious procession. "This pilgrimage symbolises the region's rich cultural and religious heritage and conveys a message of unity, brotherhood, and spiritual consciousness to devotees every year," Gautam added, referring to the yatra as a convergence of faith and devotion.

"People from all faiths and communities are coming together to support the organization of the Yatra and are extending a warm welcome to the devotees at various locations," Middha said, referring to the occasion as a symbol of fraternity and harmony.

To make sure everything was ready for the ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Akhil Pilani and Nuh SP Arpit Jain also went to the temples of Nalhar Mahadev, Jhir, and Singar. "The district administration had ensured preparations and arrangements on a large scale in view of today's religious programs. The procession received a grand welcome at more than 60 locations across the district, with Hindu and Muslim communities, business associations, social organisations, and villagers coming together to set a unique example of brotherhood and communal harmony," the deputy commissioner said.

Highlighting that no untoward incident happened amid the security arrangements, Nuh SP said, "It was an example of brotherhood that this Yatra was welcomed by the people of every community everywhere."
