PEC Hosts Expert Lecture on Embedded Architecture by Industry Professional
Chandigarh, 28th April, 2026: The Department of Electrical Engineering at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, organised an insightful session on Embedded Architecture, delivered by distinguished alumnus Mr. Nikhil Arora (EED, Batch of 2017), currently serving as a Firmware Engineer at Everpure Storage Systems, Pure Storage. The session was graced by Dr. Jaimala Jindal and Prof. Rintu Khanna, Head of the Electrical Engineering Department.
During the session, Mr. Arora offered a comprehensive overview of embedded architecture, explaining how systems respond to real-world inputs. He illustrated fundamental concepts through relatable examples, such as how smartphones detect touch inputs and how computers register keystrokes, making complex ideas accessible and engaging for students.

Further, he elaborated on four critical methods used in embedded systems for handling events—Polling, Interrupts, Timed Check (Deferred Poll), and Direct Memory Access (DMA) along with Hardware Queues—providing practical insights into their applications in modern computing systems.
