For posting activity, unverified users will be allowed to publish up to 50 original posts and 200 replies each day.
Social media platform X has introduced revised daily activity caps for unverified accounts after the company introduced fresh restrictions covering posts, direct messages, replies and following activity.
Among the key changes, X has fixed the limit for direct messages at 500 per day, while users can follow up to 400 profiles daily. The company also said account holders may update their registered email address up to four times within an hour. However, profiles already following over 5,000 accounts could encounter additional ratio-based restrictions before they are permitted to follow more users.
The platform stated that the revised limits are applicable across mobile applications, web access, APIs and third-party tools connected to X. According to the company, the measures are aimed at reducing backend strain and minimising downtime and error-page disruptions.
For posting activity, unverified users will be allowed to publish up to 50 original posts and 200 replies each day. X added that these limits are also divided into smaller time intervals to regulate activity more efficiently.
The company further clarified that API requests generated through external applications will count toward hourly limits, which may result in users reaching thresholds sooner. X said users exceeding limits will receive a notification and may need to wait before trying again.
