Badungar refuses to answer media queries on Ranjit Singh Commission

Fatehgarh Sahib: SGPC President Kirpal Singh Badungar refused to comment on the issue of non-cooperation to Justice Ranjit Singh Commission during the press conference held after the meeting of executive committee of SGPC.

In the meeting Badungar find himself in awkward situation and refused to talk on this issue. Media persons asks him queries related to refusal of SGPC to appear before Justice Ranjit Singh Commission and why SGPC was not co-operating with Commission to identify the culprits of sacrilege cases and why SGPC is spreading misinformation about summoning of Akal Takhat Jathedar,


Even some of the executive committee members were also surprised at the behaviour of Badungar, on the condition of anonymity they said “ Pardhan Sahib should have answered the queries as it will send wrong signal and will be suicidal for SAD(B) also. He should have cleared his position.

Earlier informing the media persons about the decisions taken in interim committee meeting, he said that interim committee has decided to withdraw the “ Shiromani Patarkar Award” given to Kuldeep Nayar by the SGPC for being a renowned Punjabi writer, due to his objectionable vocabulary used for Saheed Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala in his book, which has hurt the sentiments of Sikh community.

He said SGPC has written to DGP Punjab to maintain law and order in State and particularly in Harmandir Sahib, where a girl Sarvjot Kaur was looted and seriously injured. He said SGPC announced to give Rs.1 Lakh as compensation to girl.
