Man shot dead in Jind

Chandigarh: A 25-year-old man was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne men in Jind city today, police said. The victim, identified as Anand, was standing outside a private hospital along with an acquaintance. The two unidentified men then arrived at the spot and opened fire on him, SHO of Police Station (City), Jind, Inspector Simarjeet Singh said. He said Anand, a resident of Shiv colony in Jind, was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The incident was also captured in CCTV cameras installed near the spot. "We have registered a murder case against the unknown accused. We are investigating the reason why the youth was shot by the accused. Enmity or a dispute between the victim or any of his family members with the accused cannot be ruled out," he added. PTI
