Punjab govt earmarks Rs 256.74 cr for old-age pension
The Punjab government has earmarked Rs 256.74 crore for providing old-age pension and other financial assistances to the beneficiaries for the financial year 2017-18. Social security and women and child development minister Razia Sultana today said old age pension to the tune of Rs 500 per month has already been given to the beneficiaries till October 2016. BJP President Amit Shah will arrive on a two-day visit to Punjab next month as part of his 95-day country-wide tour which began in Jammu last month. According to Union Minister Vijay Sampla, who is also the president of the BJP's Punjab unit, Shah will be in Punjab on June 28 and 29.
